A few people have suggested to me that I post this again now I have new followers, I think they’re right. It really is my most favourite thing ever and I just love to share it!
Last year my children and I wrote to Peter not too long after he was cast for the role of The Doctor. At the time we wrote I had recently watched his documentary of A portrait Of Scotland and it really inspired me to get back into what I’d so been missing out on for many years. I even signed up to do a course which has been simply wonderful! Haven’t looked back since. I told him this, and also said how excited I was about him being cast as The Doctor and as well as that I also mentioned how excited I was for the 50th Anniversary and how it happened to be on my Birthday which would take away the depression about turning another year older! The kids did some pictures and we sent it off. Really, we never expected to hear anything back from him at all and it had been a way to occupy a rainy late summer afternoon.
So the 23rd of November arrives. I’m already as HIGH as a kite as we were preparing for my Doctor Who themed birthday party and were very excited about going to the cinema that evening to watch Day Of The Doctor. Then the post man arrived and I saw there was a card for me with writing on it I didn’t recognise…I then opened it and needless to say the sounds I then emitted were barely even human! Doctor Who sent me a birthday card…with DALEKS on it! 3 signed pictures, one for me and two for my kids. Best. Birthday. EVER.
